Crazy Deals® are a unique way for Job Lot Insiders to save! When you're an Insider and you purchase a Crazy Deal item, you receive a Crazy Deal Gift Card. Crazy Deal Gift Cards can be used to purchase nearly everything in our stores. It's that simple!

So what is a Crazy Deal Gift Card? How's it different from a regular Job Lot gift card?

Crazy Deal Gift Cards are like a regular Ocean State Job Lot gift card, with a few exceptions.
  • Crazy Deal Gift Cards can only be issued to and redeemed by Job Lot Insiders.
  • Crazy Deal Gift Cards received in-store cannot be used until the day after issuance. Crazy Deal Gift Cards received online cannot be used until your order is ready for pickup.
  • Crazy Deal Gift Cards cannot be used as a form of tender to purchase Insider Exclusive Deals or during our storewide promotions (Senior Deal Days, Military and Veteran Deal Days, Anniversary Promotion, etc.).
  • Crazy Deal Gift Cards cannot be used as a form of tender to purchase gift cards, propane tanks and exchanges, beer and wine, or live plants located outside of the store.
  • Crazy Deal Gift Cards are non-refundable for cash, and are only redeemable for in-store merchandise.

Are there any rules or restrictions around how I can buy a product that has a Crazy Deal associated with it?

  • Crazy Deal Gift Cards cannot be used to receive additional Crazy Deal Gift Cards. You can use a Crazy Deal Gift card as a form of tender to purchase a product that has a Crazy Deal associated with it, but you will not receive another Crazy Deal Gift Card.
  • You can use an EBT card as a form of tender to purchase a product that has a Crazy Deal associated with it, but you will not receive a Crazy Deal Gift Card with your purchase.

How do Crazy Deals® work with the "Buy Online, Ship to Store" Program?

With our launch of "Buy Online, Ship to Store," when you are logged into your online Insider account and buy a Crazy Deal item online, you'll receive a Crazy Deal Gift Card with your purchase! These Crazy Deal Gift Cards are nearly identical to the Crazy Deal Gift Cards received in stores, but there are a few things we think you should know:

  • Crazy Deal Gift Cards issued online will be activated for use once the order you've placed is ready for pickup. 
  • Products eligible to be purchased online will indicate the product's retail price, and the Crazy Deal Gift Card value you'll receive when you make an eligible purchase. 
  • You must be logged into your Insider account online in order to purchase Crazy Deal items online. If you don't have an account, click here to sign up now.
  • During the online checkout process, it will be clearly stated exactly which items, if any, in your shopping cart are Crazy Deal-eligible, and what the total amount of your Crazy Deal Gift Card will be.
  • Once your transaction is completed, you'll receive an email with your order summary and a Crazy Deal Gift Card barcode. This barcode can be scanned in any store location to use your Crazy Deal dollars. You can print out the email, or bring it in on your phone. You can also find your barcode online in your Insider account order history. The barcode will not be activated until your order is ready for pickup.
  • Crazy Deal Gift Cards received online or in store can only be redeemed in store. 

Can you receive a Crazy Deal Gift Card equal to an item's purchase price?

Yes! Crazy Deal Gift Card amounts vary: sometimes the Crazy Deal Gift Card value is less than the item price, and sometimes it's equal to the item price! When you get a Crazy Deal Gift Card equal to your purchase price, it's like you're shopping for free!

How do I know what items are Crazy Deals?

We sell Crazy Deal items both in our stores and online.

All in-store Crazy Deals will be accompanied by signage indicating the Crazy Deal Gift Card Insiders will receive with a qualifying purchase. Online Crazy Deals are listed with a purple Crazy Deal badge. On the item's product description page you'll be able to see the Crazy Deal Gift Card amount you'll receive with a qualifying purchase.

Both in-store and online Crazy Deals are advertised in our weekly flyer, on our website and via email. You can't miss them!

Why was I charged for a free Crazy Deal Gift Card on my receipt?

When you participate in a Crazy Deal promotion, you will be charged for the price of the item, less an instant Crazy Deals promotional discount. You will also be charged for the purchase of a Crazy Deal Gift Card equal to the promotional discount. Your net cost is the same, but our registers process the transaction this way in order to comply with state laws regarding promotional discounts and gift cards.

Each state has its own individual rules for sales and use taxes. Consequently, in order to be compliant with any applicable state rules around Crazy Deals, please see below for the parameters in the applicable states.

Connecticut: Pursuant to Connecticut Policy Statement 2007(5), when items purchased in conjunction with a Crazy Deal discount that offsets 100% of the retail item price of an item, Ocean State Job Lot will charge $0.01 for the Crazy Deal item. Therefore, in Connecticut, for the purchase of an item with a 100% Crazy Deal, the item price is $0.01 and the Crazy Deal Gift Card price is $0.01 less its face value. However, the Crazy Deal Gift Card can be redeemed for the full face value. The $0.01 sales price includes the sale tax and is "tax included." Pursuant to Connecticut law, for tax inclusive sales we maintain records to show separately the actual price of such sales and the amount of tax paid thereon and if requested we will furnish you with a sale slip or other like evidence of the sale showing the tax separately computed thereon.

What if I need to return an item that I bought as a Crazy Deal®?

If for any reason you require a refund for the product, the unused Crazy Deal® item must be returned along with the unused Crazy Deal Gift Card in order to receive a full refund. If the Crazy Deal Gift Card has been used, the return will be equal to the unused Crazy Deal Gift Card balance plus the net sell price of the item, after the Crazy Deal promotional discount.

For example, you buy a Crazy Deal item for $20 that comes with a $10 Crazy Deal Gift Card. If you return the item with the full $10 balance on your Crazy Deal Gift Card, you will get $20 back. If the Crazy Deal Gift Card has been partially used and only has $5 left, you will only get $15 back on your return.

Do Crazy Deal Gift Cards expire?

Crazy Deal Gift Cards do not expire.

Do you offer rain checks on Crazy Deal® items?

No; Crazy Deals® are available in-store and online while supplies last.

Can I use Crazy Deals Gift Cards to contribute to in-store donations?

Not at this time.

Can a Crazy Deals® offer be applied to a previous purchase?

We will honor a Crazy Deals offer on a previous purchase for up to one week from the date of purchase, with a valid receipt.
