Ocean State Job Lot (“OSJL”, “we”, “us” “our”) has implemented the Insiders Program to help us provide greater convenience and better values to our customers. The Program will also help us better understand our customers and their overall OSJL shopping experience. “This policy explains how we collect certain information with your permission, how we protect the confidentiality of this information, how we may use and share this information, and how you can at any time direct us to stop collecting and destroy all such information.”

OSJL believes in protecting the confidentiality of our customers in accordance with their wishes and the applicable state and federal laws associated with collecting Customer Information. The Insiders Program is our primary means of collecting the information necessary to help target the benefits and services unique to a particular customer. This may include sending our customers, through direct email and mail, notifications about products, services and other opportunities that may be related to that particular customer’s previous buying experiences with OSJL.

What is customer information?

Customer Information is information about you that is obtained by OSJL in connection with your enrollment in the Insiders Program and use of the Insiders Card. This information may identify you personally and can include, but is not necessarily limited to, your name, home address, email address, and your primary phone number (including cell phone number).

Additionally, OSJL may collect information through your use of the Insiders Program that is more general and not specifically about you, otherwise known as “Non-Personal Customer Information”. For example, we may collect and use aggregate sales information or purchase data to determine purchasing trends. Because this Non-Personal Customer Information cannot be linked to or identify any individual customer it is not governed by this policy.

How is Customer Information identified and collected?

To help better understand and serve the needs of our customers, we collect Customer Information from various sources, including the following:

How is Customer Information used?

In order to provide you with products and services we believe may meet your needs and interests, OSJL may provide Customer Information to service providers that perform services for us, such as sending a direct mail or email offer from us to you. We require these companies to sign a confidentiality agreement that prohibits them from using the information for unauthorized purposes.

In addition, OSJL may disclose Customer Information to a company, person or agency necessary to comply with a valid legal process or otherwise required to protect the rights or safety of OSJL or our customers, or in response to a specific law enforcement request.  When permitted, OSJL will notify its customers of any disclosures to law enforcement, government officials or any other agencies as required by law.

How can I prevent my Customer Information from being disclosed?

You have the right at any time to direct us not to disclose Customer Information about you, to change your preferences, or to change Customer Information that you have provided to us by contacting us at:, or by calling Customer Service at (401) 295-2672 option 6. Note that if you direct us not to disclose such information about you, you will be opting out of and will not be eligible for any card-based promotions that require Customer Information. These promotions include, but may not be limited to, paperless coupons and special savings programs.

How long is Customer Information stored?

OSJL will maintain your Customer Information as long as it is providing services to you or up and until you inform and or direct us that you no longer wish to have your Customer Information maintained. When Customer Information is no longer being utilized and or maintained, OSJL will destroy the information using secure methods only.

What measures have been designed to safeguard Customer Information?

Protecting Customer Information is an important priority for OSJL. OSJL engages in actions which are reasonably necessary to prevent unauthorized access to Customer Information. For example, marketing service providers that receive Customer Information are required to preserve the confidentiality of that information under legally binding contracts and their own internal privacy policies. Additionally, OSJL has established internal policies and procedures to ensure all OSJL associates understand the importance of securing Customer Information. Any associates who violate these policies and procedures are subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination.

What happens when I visit

OSJL does not currently engage in the use of cookies, web beacons or other similar technologies. Therefore, when you connect to our website, our computers do not record and or collect any Customer Information about you. We track usage of our website and record the preferences of visitors to our website, but that is all. In order for us to obtain Customer Information from you, you must voluntarily provide it to us through our website during your visit.

Will the privacy policy change?

OSJL reserves its right to modify this policy from time to time. In so doing, we will adjust the “Last Modified” date to reflect when these changes have occurred. Our current policy can be viewed on our website and we encourage our customers to review this policy on a frequent basis.

Customer’s Acceptance of OSJL’s Privacy Terms

By signing up for the Insiders Program, using the Insiders Card, interacting with us through the OSJL website and/or failing to advise OSJL of your wish to not have your personal information collected, you are consenting to the collection and use of your information by OSJL in accordance with this policy.
